We had 18 brave golfers play in our Winter Fun Tournament on January 14. It was cool in the golf shop so I can only imagine how cool it was on the course! Third place was won by Jimmy Garcia, John Quilty, and Bill Pearson with a score of 68. Taking Second place in the scorecard playoff with a score of 68 was Jim Lillie, Harry McKee, and Roger Bucheit. Our runaway winners with a score of 62 were Eric Anderson, George Perdue, and Don Brown. Closest to the Pins were won by Jimmy Garcia, Wendell Harper, Eric Anderson, and Dean White. Our next tourna-ment will be February 25 so be sure and sign up to have fun on the golf course.

The PGA Show in Orlando was busy as always this year and I’m sure many of you saw the updates from the Golf Channel. With four conventions at the same time the area around the Orange County Convention Center was packed with people. The big news the very first day was Tiger Woods signing to play Taylor-Made equipment. The major companies all released new woods, irons, and balls so there was a lot of new equipment to see. The Epic driver by Callaway was the talk of the show and the Cobra F family of woods and irons received a lot of conversation as did the M Family from Taylor Made. On the clothing side the colors to watch for are always black and white. The fashion colors this year continue with blue and green, a little bit of red, purple to shiraz, and to a lesser extent brown, pink, and orange. Moisture wicking fabric continues to be the most popular but companies are showing items made out of cotton and some of the most expensive shirts are all cotton. Our new items start coming in March 15 so watch for them to hit the golf shop!
